My Stay At ‘The Tree House’ In Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

I recently came from a 5-day stay at the tree-house in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It was a short stay but was a great opportunity to enjoy the landscape. The Tree House is nestled in between a secured neighborhood with houses of different shapes and styles. Somewhere in between Modern Style houses was this Rustic-Open Plan House nestled among lots of greenery.

Open Plan Concept with Floor to Ceiling Windows

This home has floor-to-ceiling windows which were installed to allow more light up into the bedrooms, which span the width of the house. The house design is a truly rare fusion of boho-chic and a contemporary modern setting. All the natural light set tone to a clean, elegant and spare, yet somehow radiates both warm informality and welcoming ease.

You have the perfect balance of color tones throughout the house even with the bright-red kitchen cabinetry plastered across the kitchen. All this, entangled with hints of rustic and industrial elements is the perfect way to sum up the interior taste of this home.

Rustic Industrial Feel

Instead of piling on the antiques, the owner used these assets to accentuate various aspects of the house. The Iron doors that lead directly to the outside patio is a rather unique feature of the house.

My favorite part of the entire house was this Clawfoot bathtub loaded with a copper faucet. Generally, when we think of clawfoot bathtubs, we think of romance and luxury: Baths you could spend all day in, with candles, flower petals and maybe a glass of Champagne to tie it all together. Aesthetically, we can all agree that they feel classic and timeless in any room and are the perfect accessory to your vacation.

“Traditionally, claw-foot baths had a Victorian-style ball-and-claw design, but today any tub on feet is often called a claw-foot”

Needless to day, the downfall of this bath was once again its open nature. This is not the worst thing, especially for couples who have the space to themselves. But sharing the space with your family on vacation can get quite tricky if you value your privacy.

Outdoor Patio Furniture

The outdoors were laced with two Cast Iron Patio Sets, one green and the other white. Right across it is this outdoor bench with its cushions draped in African Fabric. This sharp contract between the Victorian Age Patio Set and African Art seeks to redefine interior spaces and challenge interior design culture.

I absolutely loved my stay here. If you happen to be looking for a place to stay, I would definitely recommend a stay here.
